Minty Fashion

So I’ve been working on the design of my blog and I just have to share this collage I came across on ShopStyle.com. It matches my background! Plus how great is it that seafoam green is popular again, even if short-lived? That color always reminds me of mint chocolate chip ice cream, any anything minty and delicious, like a Minty Wonderland cupcake.

Speaking of good things – A la Martha – I am focusing on drawing more these days and will be making an effort to post more of my personal artwork.  Fist things first, I had to create a logo.  You’ll see my business cards in progress below…They’re going to be printed by Igloo letterpress, a fantastic company that I’m excited to work with. I’m still debating what the colors will be…if you have any suggestions let me know.

It’s raining awesomeness!

Just found this company: The Nimbus Factory and it turns out its a collaborative effort of women from California and Ohio! Coincidence? perhaps. But those are two of the awesomest states in my humble opinion. (okay okay, so one of them lives in Georgia- which I’m sure is cool too)

Anyway- they make the cutest stuff!

Gotta Love Martha Stewart

So I’ve always been a fan of Martha’s, and I love that her dogs have a blog. This was particularly cute because it reminds me of skyping with the best clients ever and watching their dogs ‘typing emails’ in the skype window.

From this post it looks like Sharkey is a PC user while Francesca is a Mac girl (my kind of girl!), although its a little confusing since they switch computers. For more adorable-ness, check out their blog, The Daily Wag.

Llama Love

Llamas have been popping up in a lot of ads lately…Here are two of my favorites:

1) Banana Republic Winter 2010 Ad (sorry for the bad pic…I couldn’t find one online) Apparently this isn’t the first time they’re used llamas to model their accessories…While trying to find the 2010 ad I came across this cutie on Magpie And Cake…who knew?!

2) Anthropologie’s November 2010 Catalogue (if you can’t tell from previous posts, I’m obsessed with this catalogue…so fun!) There were lots of other animals featured as well…check out their ‘Shop the Catalogue‘ feature to see more.

Anthropologie and Clip Art

I couldn’t help notice that the Fall Anthro catalogue reminds me a bit of Trader Joe’s Fearless Flyer! Anthro is using clip art blown up in fun and whimsical proportions, which looks really cool. I included a few shots of my hand drawn ‘Fearless Flyer people’ that I created for one of TJ’s midwest stores, you know…for comparison!
